THE PROBLEMS OF PHILOSOPHY
Simon Collery

You stood before me, sheer delight,
And said "I could be your's tonight".
At least, that's what your body said
And isn't that where fancy's bred?

Of course, I do enjoy the hunt,
But where's the harm in being blunt
When offered such a tasty bait
On a nicely garnished plate.

And so we both sat down to eat
Good fortune's unexpected treat.
Alas, our venture did conclude
With what comes to all who eat fast food.

What looked and smelled like sheer delight
Failed to quell my appetite.
And yet I couldn't rise to meet
The challenge of a second treat.

At first I found you so enticing
With your pretty sugar icing,
But in bed, so unenthusiastic
I can't believe you're not real plastic.
