THE PATH FORSAKEN
Simon Collery

Standing where two paths diverge
I stop to watch those going before
As down their chosen way they surge,
Spilling onto the grassy verge
That's not so grassy anymore.

And wanting solitude, I chose
The other path, the one not taken,
Where no one of importance goes.
Now I won't know what the poet knows
But he'll never know the path forsaken.
